iAPX286 @(#)README	1.2

To rebuild a kernel on the LF-system, perform the following steps:

1.	Execute "cd /usr/src/uts/iAPX286/cf".
2.	Edit the appropriate dfile for the system you are going to build.
(dfile.w for a system to run on a winchester, or dfile.f
for a system to run on a floppy)
3.	If you made any changes to the dfile, execute "rm current.*". This
will cause config to be called to rebuild the needed
		configuration source files.
4.	Execute: "make VER=ver NODE=node type [install]".
Where:	"ver" is the version stamp to be used,
"type" is "wini", or "flop" to make a kernel to run
on a winchester, or floppy respectively,
"note" is the nodename used by network software (uucp) and

the optional "install" will cause the kernel that is built to
			be copied to /.

*** NOTE WELL!!! ***

The standard kernel configuration does have the floating point emulator
configured into the system. If you do have an 80287 coprocessor you must
build a kernel that doesn't include the floating point emulator. This is
done by deletimg the the following line from the dfile:
	"emul	0	1"

Other drivers wich can be taken out of the configuration if not needed are:

diag : diagnostic devices, needed only for debugging
	tape : streamer tape
