# 'Config' Basic Networking Utilities (BNU) Data Base Support File.
# -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
# This file allows the administrator to override certain parameters within BNU
# manually. You may wonder how the determination was made as to where to put
# configuration parameters, here in Config or in Devconfig. Well, if it seemed
# somewhat "global", it goes here. If it's highly service-related, it should
# go in Devconfig (but not always).
#
# Each entry in this file has the following format:
#
#     <parameter>=<value>
#
# Where <parameter> is one of the configurable parameters and <value> is the
# value to be assigned to that parameter. No need to worry about getting all
# those uppercase and lowercase letters matched up just right because the
# case is ignored for both the parameter name and it's value.
#
# Configuration parameters:
#
# Protocol=<protocol set>
# Prioritized subset of valid protocols provided at compile time, with
# optional protocol-specific parameters in parentheses. The master
# and slave uucico's will pick their way through the list to arrive at
# the first protocol they can both agree on. The master uucico can
# have a different protocol list than what's listed here if the device
# type in the 'Devices' file has specified alternate protocols.
#
# Protocol=G(5,512)ge
#
# The above example tells uucico that the available protocols and
# their ordering is "Gge" and that the 'G' protocol will have 5
# windows and 512-byte packets. In either MASTER or SLAVE mode, each
# uucico program will send it's list of available protocols, in
# priority order, to the remote uucico as a string of single-character
# protocols (number of windows and window size are not sent in this
# list). Each uucico will then look at it's own prioritized list of
# available protocols and compare each against the list of prioritized
# protocols received from it's remote uucico counterpart; the first
# protocol that matches is what will be used. If they can't agree,
# the connection is broken, otherwise they move on to the protocol
# startup phase.
#
# It's during the protocol startup phase where the two uucico's agree
# on the number of windows and window sizes (for the g and G protocols
# only -- the other protocols don't use multiple windows). The rule
# is this: the uucico's must obey the requests for the other side's
# "receiving" window. If uucico 'A' says it wants 5 windows of 512
# bytes each, then uucico 'B' is supposed to obey that request by
# using 5 windows of 512 bytes each when sending data to uucico 'A'.
# Now at the same time, uucico 'B' can request that uucico 'A' send it
# only 3 windows of 1024 bytes each. Thus, the two uucico's will be
# talking to each other with different window sizes and numbers.
#
# If the 'Protocol' variable isn't defined, the default prioritized
# list of protocols is (g and G protocols have the same number of
# windows and window size as a default):
#
# gG(7,64)ftxe
#
# Look in the Devices file for a description of these protocols.
#
# Trailing_NL=<NL|CR>
# Append a NL (newline) or CR (Carriage Return) after the "send" part
# of the "expect-send" sequence. The default is CR.
#
# Somewhere along the line, newline used to be the default (back in the
# good old days of teletypes), but now it's carriage return. You can
# go back into history with this configuration parameter.
#
# Allow_Debug=<YES|NO>
# Users of the BNU programs can be prevented from seeing debugging info
# by setting debug to "NO". The default is YES.
#
# When debugging, only uucp and root can see the "send" sequences
# unless the Systems file is readable by the user. (which isn't a
# very secure idea). Debugging levels run from 1 to 9 as a UUCP
# standard, but you can go as high as 100 or more but the debugging
# level sent to remote computers will be maxed out at 9 to prevent
# freaking them out.
#
# Test_For_Opened_Tty_Port=<YES|NO>
# Usually the uucico, cu and ct programs will just use the lock files
# to determine if a tty port is in use. Define this parameter to
# YES if you want an additional check to the lockfiles. This check
# will determine if the tty port has been opened by another process, if
# do, the tty port is considered locked. The default is YES.
#
# Check_Remote=<YES|NO>
# The checking of the remote systems's name in the Systems file can
# be bypassed by setting this parameter to "NO". The default is YES.
# If Check_Remote is YES, any system that calls us that's not in the
# Systems file will be disconnected with the message:
#
# "You are unknown to me"
#
# This still requires the Permissions file to be correctly configured.
#
# Default_BaudRate=<baud rate>
# The default baud rate to be used when the Systems and Devices file
# both have the keyword "Any". It's also the default speed for 'ct'.
# The default is 2400.
#
# Min_Free_Blocks=<# of blocks>
# Minimum number of free blocks needed on the file system to permit
# a file transfer to take place. These are 512-byte blocks.
# Default is 50.
#
# Min_Free_Inodes=<# of inodes>
# Minimum number of free inodes needed on the file system to permit
# a file transfer to take place. Default is 5.
#
# Audit_Log=<file>
# Path of the file to be used for debugging output when uucico has
# been called by a remote system. This is useful when you're planning
# on a huge audit log and want to place this file in a filesystem with
# more free space.
#
# Try_Calls=<# of calls>
# Number of times to try making a call after a failure. This is per
# device, such as "tty0". The default is 2.
#
# Retry_Time=<# of secs>
# If we failed to connect to a remote system, we'll wait at least
# this number of seconds before trying again. The default is 300
# (5 minutes).
#
# The Systems file allows each entry to have it's own retry time which
# overrides this global value.
#
# Extended_Logging=<YES|NO>
# If you would like extended logging for the uucico sessions, define
# this parameter as "YES". This option will cause each line in the
# /usr/spool/uucp/.Log/uucico/* log files to have this information
# appended to it as in this example:
#
# uucp foo - (10/8-18:26:09,4595,0) SUCCEEDED (foo) a:b:c:d:e:f
#
# where (if no value for that field, it's left blank)
#
# a = Type used (from Systems file entry).
# b = Class used (from Systems file entry).
# c = Line used (from Devices file entry).
# d = Class used (from Devices file entry).
# e = Caller used (from Devices file entry).
# f = Protocol used.
#
# This is quite helpful in trouble-shooting uucico problems... The
# default is YES, but if you should have a reason to not want to use
# this info, by all means, turn it off.
#
# My_Name=<system_name>
# The BNU software uses the nodename of your computer by default. This
# is the 8 character name displayed by the 'uname -n' command. If
# you would rather use the "hostname" as displayed by the 'hostname'
# command, define <system_name> as "GETHOSTNAME":
#
# My_Name=GETHOSTNAME
#
# If neither the nodename or hostname is desired, you may specify
# any other name (up to 14 characters) as in this example:
#
# My_Name=jollyroger
#
# You can also define your name with the MYNAME parameter in
# the Permissions file (see that file for more).
#
# No matter how you slice or dice it, BNU imposes a 14-character
# limit on system names - anything longer is truncated.
